The LTD claim is a complex and lengthy process depending on the diagnosis and
treatment. It requires regular claim reviews to ensure that the strategy for return
to work and payments are monitored and paid in a timely fashion.
STD claims that convert to LTD will normally be transferred after a period
of six months. It is important that the STD claim file is the foundation of
the LTD file. This will provide the Claims Analyst with a clear understanding
of the Employee’s current disability status including diagnosis, treatment
and return to work plans.
The policy data needed to process the LTD will need to be integrated to the
claim file from the administration system and be readily available for review

Claim review is an important part of managing the LTD claim process. Periodically
